Culture

The section for The Hub's take on Culture from Art to Books and Music. Poetry fan Charles Holmes publishes his charcoal drawing "The Miner" and poem "The Final Shift" inspired by his roots in the mining regions of the North East of England and memories of the still-haunting Aberfan mining disaster in south Wales.

Manhattan Project nuclear-pollution-themed Hanford Trilogy author R Julian Cox walks us through his journey from York Jazz Club founder to Fleet Street business journo and PR adviser to Maggie Thatcher to retirement as a novel-writer. Journalist Caroline Byrne co-hosts a podcast and writes an article on Nazi Book Burning and Hitler's secret plans for troublesome authors like Aldous Huxley. Posts on opera on hospital radio and in prisons, and Swedish composer and pianist Anna Sofia Nord followed. Check in for current culture offerings.
